This week was a big week for data analysis on Ryde. I was getting reports from several users that simply walking around their office was triggering trips. I put in some quick bandaids initially, but it was time to peek into the problem a bit more deeply.

I found that 30% of trips that were marked as "Not Bike" fell into two edge cases that I could easily patch...

Held in Las Vegas's Mandalay Bay Convention Center, Interbike is the largest bike conference in the US. I was fortunate this year to partner with MonkeyLectric, a Berkeley based bike lighting company, in working their booth so that I could get to the conference and scope out the latest and greatest bike tech. The outcome was crazy fun times with the MonkeyLectric team and a super productive trip for Modeo.

The bottom line is that our infrastructure is unsafe. So the best way to maximize safety is to bike on only the safest available infrastructure.

Like most facets of society still lingering from the industrial revolution, the 8-hour work day (or 5-day work) week makes no sense. Why? The 8-hour work day causes deadweight loss.

The iPhone 6 and 6 Plus have done a much better job of capturing a broader audience for Apple than previous iPhones. The 6 and 6 Plus together drove a massive increase in Q1 revenue for Apple: 33% over the same time last year.

But these phones are not iPhones so much as they are phones that runs iOS.

In January I told the story of Ryde, the perfect ride tracking app for urban bikers, and why I decided to kill the project.
